We are back!  Mike is joined by Ed, Steve and Randy in this relaunch of the GameLore podcast!  In this episode, we talk about some of the best and worst things we saw in gaming culture in 2014.  Enjoy! Computer problems have been resolved, so the GameLore Podcast is back online!  Episode 9 features a conversation with Mike and his two sons, Tony and David.  They discuss what they have been playing lately and what some of their favorite games are.  Family secrets are shared, Mike wins the Father of the Year award and much fun is had.  E3 (The Electronics Entertainment Expo) is discussed along with some of the new IPs.  Don't forget that Free RPG Day is June 15!

Kevin and Mike talk about our role playing roots. Kevin tells us why he plays board games instead of RPGs now, and Mike talks. A lot. About his role playing experience. Give us a listen! Kevin and Mike discuss their latest gamer gatherings.  Kevin hosted G3 - Gents, Games and Grub at his place. Mike attended Winter Fantasy in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, where he ran some D&D Next, played many board games and some RPGs, including a few playtests of Jason Morningstar's latest creation, Sirai.  If you listen, it will be just like you were there!  Well, maybe not, but it is a good listen anyways. Ever wanted to be a profiler like in Silence of the Lambs or Bones?  Well, Kevin and Mike discuss how those skills might be handy in picking out a game for your group.  The flow chart they discuss is on the GameLorePodcast.com\blog website.   They also discuss Kevin's Gents, Games and Grub night and Mike's recent gaming.   Some concepts you probably want to take into consideration when picking a game include:   Does you group like short or long games? Do they like cooperative or competitive games? Do they prefer simulation (i.e. war) games  or games with an abstract theme? Do they like games with random events or do they like games with less reliance on mechanics like dice rolling? Do they like to play a few games that they are familiar with repeatedly, or do they like to experiment with new games? Some of the games discussed in this podcast include Kingdom Builder, Ticket to Ride, the Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures game.

Kevin and Mike are back!  Kevin discusses his recent game night known as Triple G:  Gents, Games and Grub. This leads into a discussion of gateway games, like Ticket to Ride.  Thunderstone and Halo 4 are also discussed. The boys settle into a review and comparison of both Caylus and Lords of Waterdeep.  Mike looks forward to attending Winter Fantasy 2013 in Ft. Wayne at the end of January.

Happy New Year!  Ryan and Mike discuss their recent gaming, and give a brief review of the latest Dominion expansion, Dark Ages.  Mike takes about not being able to complete the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs without being blown to bits by not-so-friendly fire.  Mike also laments having to face Batman with Red Robin in HeroClix.  Then the boys discuss their gaming resolutions for 2013.  Artemis Spaceship Simulation, here we come!
