This show is our rant and rave edition. Not only has there been so much in the news lately that has caused people to rant all over the place; but it has also invited quite a few negative comments. From Rachel Dolezal and the NAACP to Caitlyn Jenner and the ESPY Awards...we hit 'em all. We address these issues as well as bring to light the way they connect and how some Facebook rantes fail to realize how their ranting can evolve into hatred. We all must be very careful not to create a situation that invites hatred and ignorance. And if we do, then we must stand and educate those who exhibit those attitudes. We also take time to recognize those who exhibit positivity and enlightened thinking. Jennifer Hudson's new song, "I Still Love You" is such a positive statement about families coming to terms with their LGBT children and same-sex marriage. OK..so I have been very annoyed at some people lately and it came to me that I could relieve my annoyance in a very simple manner. I mean the audacity of these people. They think that they can do whatever and say whatever and it's ok! I think not! How many people have been flipped off on the highway? This show was based on M.T.'s observation that we had been going a little on the heavy side lately. She felt that it was time to lighten things up so the Raggedy Chick show was born. We discuss her dealings with some raggedy chicks as well as one of Spiritual Studds (who had a few meltdowns from the memories). Not only is it one of thefunniest shows but it also makes you think. Hello Fam, Yes, this show is called crazy people because the people we discuss are, well. crazy. Not all of them are. Because we begin the show discussing Leelah Alcorn, who was the  transgendered young lady who took her life because she could not see a way out of the hell in which she was living. The crazy comes in when we discuss the pastor who wanted a baker in Colorado to bake cakes shaped like bibles decorated with God hates gays and 2 men holding hands with a big 'x' over them. He filed a discrimination complaint against her because she refused to decorate the cakes the way he requested. We also discuss some other pastors and politicians. I do want to let you know that we did record 2 weeks ago but my new neighbors are fans of playing their music extremely loud. I did ask them to lower it, but the mic picked it up anyway and I did not want feel that the quality was good enough to post with that loud music playing in the background.   Of course, this show is filled with controversial issues. We start the show with the television show, "My Husband is Not Gay." You will hear what we think about the atttude that this show my foster among those out there who will say that they knew being gay was a choice. M.T. did some preaching on the subject. Question: Are we guilty of trying to make others comfortable? Did the guys on the show get married so that others would be comfortable or so that they would be comfortable with themselves?       This opens a discussion about our fear of sexuality. Why is it so hard to have a dialogue about sex? Repressed? They want to close the door again and are finding it hard to do so. Homosexuality is viewed by so many through the lens of sex instead of the whole person.       It's time to render fear powerless. God does not let us walk alone. I have a new work schedule and my body is taking it's time adjusting so everything is moving at a snail's pace around here. Anyway, yes, we discuss Ferguson but we also discuss the lack of respect for authority that some young people have. This is an issue in the straight & LGBTQ communities. My cohost M.T. was under the weather for this show so I had the privilege of cohosting with my lovely wife, Ms. Lene. We discussed the life and death of Fred Phelps who alone was responsible for making Westboro Baptist Church and hated household name. We also discussed the reaction of some of the good people of Alabama to the coming of their native son, Apple exec Tim Cook. Coming from the south, I cna honestly say, the reaction was no surprise. M.T. brought a story to Spiritual Studd that amazed them both. The story was about the practice of bacha posh(may have been mispronounced) in Afganistan. It opened both of their eyes and hearts to the plight of women who must resort to what the hosts wondered is a type of forced transgenderism (if that is a word). The culture looks at it as a way to deal with their segregated society. They also discuss the recent discussions of the Catholic Church becoming more, shall we say, "welcoming?" Of course, those of you who have listened in the past know that this led to all kinds of church talk. Last but not least, Spiritual Studd talks about the documentary that she watched. Hello Family, Yes, it's the News Show. We discuss the new ruling in Missouri which says that Missouri must recognize same sex marriages performed out of state. We also discuss Jennifer Knapp who is a Christian singer who happens to be gay. Yes, it seems to be an oxymoron but hey, I understand. Then there is the case of the owners of an Oregon bakery who refused to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple and now face a fine of up to $150,000.00.   We have all been affected by some type of discrimination as gay people, but M.T. wonders why it is so prevelant in the gay community. In this episode, we discuss why the appearance of two studs or femmes dating seems to raise the ire of some gay people. Is it possible that we have been brainwashed to believe that we must portray the image that straight people or regs(regulars, as my son calls them) do, just so that they can feel comfortable?
