You have the right to be happy with what you have done at the end of the day.mov
11/08/2015 Duração: 15minAre you satisfied at the end of each day? Do you regret not being able to finish things? You have the right to be happy with what you have done at the end of every single day. In the past, things left unfinished would consume me. I would often work long hours just for a feeling of completeness. Today I am grateful that what I did throughout the day was enough. Thank you for taking the time to be here with me, and I appreciate you feedback! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support

Stop procrastinating and tackle things head on!
10/08/2015 Duração: 09minDo you like to procrastinate? I stopped avoiding things, and I now tackle things head on. In the past I would often avoid things I did not want to do, or that seemed difficult. For example, when I was in school I would often put off writing an essay until the last possible moment. The problem with procrastinating is that it will cause unneeded stress & anxiety, and you will often expend more energy than if you immediately completed the task. One technique I use to avoid procrastinating is breaking up large and often daunting projects into smaller and more manageable tasks. If you had told me that I had to record 1,000 video lectures this year, I would have told you no way! But, by recording 3-5 videos per day it has become much more manageable, and even enjoyable. Thank you for taking the time to be here with me, and I hope you have a nice day! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support

Your choices now are more full of life than any plan made in the past.
08/08/2015 Duração: 13minWhatever choices you have right now in this moment, are infinitely more rich and inspired than any plans you may have made in the past. Now this doesn't mean that you shouldn't make plans regarding your future, but it does mean that life is much more rich in the moment. I like to make decisions in the moment rather than through planning, because it allows me to make choices when I have the most data. Thank you for taking the time to be here with me, and I hope you have a great day! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support

Seeing how people are the same inspires me to love myself and be helpful..mov
07/08/2015 Duração: 16minSeeing how all people are the same inspires me to love and take care of myself, so that I can be useful for everyone else. For most of my life I felt different from those around me. This caused me to feel isolated from the rest of the world, and I didn't work well with others. Now I like to view people like ants, because we are working towards similar goals and are ultimately interconnected. What happens to me is much less important than how I react to it.
06/08/2015 Duração: 17minWhat happens to me is much less important than how I react to it. I used to live my life focusing on what happened to me, and largely ignorant of how important my reaction was. Today, how I react to things is all that matters. What actually happens to me is all seen through how I react to it. I hope this video is helpful to you, and I hope you have a great day! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support

If you respect how your body is feeling, especially when it is in pain, you will spend much less time in pain or sick.
02/08/2015 Duração: 13minDo you accept how your body is feeling? If you respect how your body is feeling when it is in pain or when you are sick, you will spend much less time in pain. In the past, I would resist fatigue, stress and headaches by taking medication. The problem with this is I was ignoring the warnings my body was giving me. At least for me, pain is usually an indication to slow down. I hope this helps you and have a great day! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support

Being grateful for the bad things that almost happen gives me joy each day.
31/07/2015 Duração: 10minBeing grateful for the bad things that almost happen gives me great joy each day. One example is when you narrowly avoid getting in a car accident. If I was in this situation in the past, I would immediately be upset and maybe even cuss the person out. Now, I am thankful to have avoided an accident all together. Thank you for taking the time to be here with me, and I appreciate you feedback! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support

How to react when someone insults you online or tries to bully you. I forgive and respond with love.
30/07/2015 Duração: 16minHow do you react when someone insults you or tries to bully you? In the past, I would often escalate the situation or insult the other person back when someone would try to bully me, especially online. I also found that I would put myself into these situations to be bullied by acting arrogant and inconsiderate. Now I try to avoid these situations all together. When I do find myself being bullied or insulted, I have found that the best way to respond is with love and understanding. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support

Love and hate are our own creation. You can choose to love or hate anything.
28/07/2015 Duração: 14minWhat things do you love and hate? Love and hate are things that we create. This has been an amazing thing for me to discover, because it allows me to see more clearly the choices I make in my life. You ultimately choose how you react to everything in your life. For most of my life I went around thinking certain people were bad, wrong, and selfish, however I created all of these feelings for them. My mistake was wanting these people to change when I could just love them for who they were. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support

You can only love others as much as you love yourself
27/07/2015 Duração: 17minYou can only love others as much as you love yourself. The reason for this is your love for anyone else must come from you, it must be delivered through you. When you are hurting yourself with negative thoughts or failing to take care of your body, its is easy to say I am not hurting others. For years I struggled with alcohol abuse and even though I told myself I wasn't hurting others, my family and friends told me otherwise. Today I pray that we can love ourselves so that we may love those around us. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support

Prayer and crying allow me to handle any challenging situation with grace today.
26/07/2015 Duração: 16minYou don't have to be afraid of anything in life as long as you have these two tools: praying and crying. Now, it may sound ridiculous, and you might say I don't need to pray or cry. I find that with prayer and crying I can overcome any situation that comes up in life. Most of my life I thought that prayer (or affirmation) was useless, and I thought crying was for somebody that wasn't a real man. This caused me to bottle up all of my pain and suffering, and I was always afraid of the next hard thing in life. I am grateful to be welcoming a baby girl into the world, and I know that I can learn as much from her as I can teach her. I can teach her the practical things in life and she can teach a more simple way to live. Honest, transparent, and if life makes you mad, scream & cry to get over it. Don't bottle things up and hold on to grudges that can consume you. I am grateful to have a very diverse following of people from different cultures and belief systems, and I hope that this can help you no matter wher

Tips for enjoying life when you live with your family.
24/07/2015 Duração: 14minOne of the unhappiest times of my life was when I lived at home with my parents as a teenager. I couldn't wait to get away from home so that I could make my own money, have my own family, and do whatever I saw fit. While at home, I would play video games to escape from reality and make time go by as quickly as possible. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to move back home after college, and to have spent time with my parents before my dad passed away. My mom says that she would give anything to have even a bad day with my dad, and know now that the time I spend with her is sacred. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support

"Yes, but" is a dangerous phrase I stay away from using today
18/07/2015 Duração: 12minHow many times have you used the phrase "yes, but?" In the past, I used this phrase very often. Whenever someone would try and give me good advice, I would often say yes, but. Today, I avoid using this phrase because it often causes me to ignore things that I know are right in my heart. For example, when I was first trying to lose weight, people would tell me to eat healthier. My response would often be yes, but I don't like the taste of healthy food, or healthier foods are too expensive. This was an example of my mind using a small and incomplete idea to prevent me from facing reality. I would often take a similar approach when people would tell me that I should consume less alcohol. Today, I pray that I can listen to my heart and those around me who want to see me succeed. Fantasy thinking creates pain. Here is how I stop daydreaming and appreciate this moment as it is.
17/07/2015 Duração: 19minFantasy thinking ultimately creates pain and suffering in the moment. It has taken me nearly my entire life to learn this lesson. Most of my life I would ignore the good around me because I wanted more. For example, while I was still in school I would always want to date the "hottest" girls. Now there were multiple problems with this fantasy. For one, I was using my skewed teenage perception of beauty, at the time, to determine whether or not girls were attractive. Two, I didn't stop to think whether or not we would actually get along. Last but most important, fantasizing about girls would cause me to look over the ones that were actually interested in me. So, instead of daydreaming about what could be, take the time to appreciate what you already have in the moment. Tears of gratitude! Was yesterday a good day or a bad day?
16/07/2015 Duração: 13minYesterday brought me to tears of gratitude. It was a day filled with challenges that showed me all the love in my life. I think I would have called this a bad day for most of my life and am grateful today to know that every day is a great day. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support

If you completely love yourself, you will completely love life and others.
15/07/2015 Duração: 11minLoving others starts with first loving yourself. Inner reality determines outer reality. In other words. how you feel about others is a reflection of how you feel about yourself. We all have control over our own inner reality, so once you start loving yourself you can start to love others and appreciate life no matter what your circumstances may be. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support
