CMAP Reveal On Simrad - Install, Navigate And Find Inshore And Offshore Spots - HOW 2 TUESDAY #95
05/05/2020 Duração: 07minTom Rowland of Saltwater Experience asks Capt Scott Walker of Into the Blue about using Mapping chips. Scott uses C-Map Reveal with his Simrad NSS Evo 3 16" unit. Scott installs the chip, selects the map, and shows how he would use the chip to find inshore spots like coral heads or lobster spots. Tom asks about using the C-Map Reveal chip to find swordfish spots in deep water. Scott explains and shows, step by step, how to get high-resolution bathymetric imagery displayed, and what he looks for in a productive swordfish spot. He shows how to find spots in 1500-1800 feet that would be productive swordfish areas. He goes over the menu and shows how to turn on and off features, use tracks, and switch between high-resolution bathymetric charts to standard charts. Watch the full video on YouTube HERE. 04/05/2020 Duração: 08minCombine the Wim Hof 40 day Quarantine Challenge with 100 days of Burpees and you have our April/May challenge. We are 34 days in. How are you doing? Want to join? Come in...it’s not too late. If you need further instructions please CLICK HERE for full description or read below: We will do the 100 day Burpee challenge. This one is easy to explain. On April 1, drop and do 1 burpee. On April 2nd, do 2 burpees. Continue adding a burpee a day for 100 days. We will also join in on the Wim Hof 40 Day Quarantine Challenge. I have written about Wim Hof quite a bit here and have been doing the daily breathing for about 5 years. Notably, I have not been sick in any way since starting this protocol. Previous to starting, I had the flu every year for 3 years prior. I would also get occasional colds. Additionally, performance has improved, most notably in my burpees. I was not able to do 100 burpees in a row despite trying for many years. After about a month of daily breathing, I did 100 consecutive burpees and set an

Poling A Skiff - Exercises To Build Strength And Reduce Overuse Injuries - PHYSICAL FRIDAY #58
01/05/2020 Duração: 28minTell someone that fishing is a physical sport and you may get some funny looks. Fishing on the flats of the Florida Keys is quite a bit different than sitting under a shade tree with a bobber, worms, and a 6 pack. Poling a skiff is hard work. Often guides pole into the wind for hours at a time with 2 heavy dudes on the bow. Guys do this 100 days in a row or more during the season. It is like being a professional athlete. You are requiring performance out of your body to make a living…regardless of the sea conditions, wind speed, or weight of the boat. The guide’s job is to push the boat and find fish. Novice polers are overwhelmed by the strength and endurance requirements and fatigue midi day. Veterans have different problems. The repetitive movement of poling for years can lead to painful overuse injuries. I received a question about this asking me to do an entire episode on developing strength for poling so today we will go over the ways that strength can be developed and also go over ways to

22/04/2020 Duração: 01h33minOn one of my first episodes, I tracked down a gentleman who was preparing to do a race that was extreme…even to me. The race was a 3,000-mile rowing race across The Atlantic Ocean! He was doing it to raise awareness of the issues that veterans struggle with like PTSD, veteran suicide, and depression. This issue is particularly close to his heart because he is a former special forces member himself. Tim Crockett is today’s guest and his organization is called TameTheKracken. Over a year ago, Tim crossed the finish line of this 3000 mile race and we will catch up with him to hear some stories and find out how he overcame some significant struggles along the way. Reef Fishing Feat. Captain Scott Walker - HOW 2 TUESDAY #92
14/04/2020 Duração: 04minCaptain Scott Walker and I talk about some of the do's and don'ts of reef fishing while we can tuna in his kitchen. The Florida Keys have reefs 4 miles out, easily accessible. Because they are easily accessible you need to be courteous because there will be many boats out there trying to fish. Charter boats are out there trying to make a living and you are out there to make your friends and family happy. The biggest mistake I see is how much chum you bring when going fishing. Before you even set out make sure that you are taking enough chum. Chum and they will come. The commercial blocks of chum are very bulky, Scott uses 7-pound blocks and uses a dedicated cooler for chum and fills it up with as much as he can. Reefs support a lot of fish and chum holds them there - so when you pull up, if boats are already lined up, keep your distance (about 50-75 yards) and set your anchor out in front of your boat so when you come tight you will be stern to stern with the other boats. For yellowtail you want to be 35-9

Overcoming them is what makes life meaningful. Joshua J. Marine - Author Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will. Suzy Kassem - Writer-Poet-Philosopher In this uncertain time, many are faced with new challenges that may seem overwhelming. Challenges are what makes life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful. Add to that the other quote that doubt kills more dreams that failure and it is fairly pertinent to the situation we find ourselves in today. Believe in yourself and break down overwhelming challenges into bite size pieces. Never quit. Stay positive and stay on the path This episode has been brought to you by Waypoint

How To Set An IGFA World Record And Debunking Myths Feat. Meredith McCord, 180 World Records - HOW 2 TUESDAY #91
07/04/2020 Duração: 43minToday we are going over myths of world records as we sit down with Meredith who has over 180 world records. She has tons of world records on fly and she knows so much about the ins and outs of world records. There are lots of questions such as “Do you have to kill the fish?” or “What do you have to do as far as leaders and knots?” Well, listen up as Meredith leads us through the details of the IGFA and how to set world records. Setting an IGFA World Record requires an angler to follow very precise rules to document a catch. The leader has to be tied a certain way and the line that you use has to break at the correct poundage. Many people think it is impossible to set an IGFA World Record in fishing but it really is quite possible if you learn the rules. Meredith McCord has over 180 World Records and has learned through trial and error, advice from mentors and from the IGFA itself, how to play this game within the rules. She is happy to help other anglers to identify a record and set up their tackle to suc
