It helps to take care of that thing when you can because if you keep going with it it could sink you.ReflectionsI started this journey on August 24, 2019 1.The second you start the journey, you need direction and you can eventually help others find theirs. 2.The worst thing that could happen is if you didn’t go. There is always opposition to you doing something that is good.3.You start for a reason, and you continue for a different reason. There will some that will be there for the long haul and some that aren’t. • 2021 Podcast Goals Revisited - #95

    05/04/2021 Duração: 08min

We made some BIG goals for the podcast at the beginning of the year. With Q1 of the year in the books now I thought that we would look back and see how we are doing with them so far.I had a goal to reach 20k total downloads on the podcast, and to do that I had three objectives:1. Involve the community more - I made a Google form and stuff but overall I could do a lot better in this area.2. Get my personal brand more figured out - I have made a lot of progress in this area! I have decided to focus more on talking about self-care and have that be a giant part of my brand. I do not think this is too big of a pivot, but rather it is just putting on glasses that help me see a bit more clearly. 3. Appear on more podcasts and provide more value overall - Ooof I haven't appeared on any podcasts this year yet... but I am finishing up my first book (about habits) and plan on appearing 20 podcasts here in Q2 (April-June)!I mentioned it in the episode but I should mention it here as well. Lately my laptop has not be

  • Overcoming Perfectionism For Good! (3 Tips) - #88

    11/03/2021 Duração: 05min

I believe that 2021 is truly my year to take my side hustles and other endeavors to the next level. One of the biggest traps I have fallen into recently that has kept me from doing as much is perfectionism. Here are my three quick tips to nip this struggle in the bud for good.  1. Remember Your Why Chances are that the why for what you are doing is to sit on your dreams and not do much about them. For one thing that is not an inspiring why and it does not really help you get up in the morning. On the other hand having a good why will help you when the perfectionism monster knocks on your door to waste your time.2. Remember Your JourneyRemember that to get the results you want it is going to take some time to the process and journey overall. I have been doing podcasting for nearly 2 years across 88 episodes and yet I still have not tapped into some of the most meaningful parts of my journey yet. Yep so I need to keep going. Time is going to keep moving along, and I need to move with it.3. Remember That You Get

  • How to Bankrupt Your Happiness (3 Tips) - #86

    05/03/2021 Duração: 10min

Obviously you wouldn't want to do these things... but yeah I thought it was worth the deep dive. As always I hope it was helpful. :)1. Be dishonest. I shared the story of Rita Crundwell and how she has lost all of her credibility from a mistake she made in her life. I also share reasons to not cheat in all aspects of life and how it only cheats you out of the progress you could have made.2. Don't care about your health. When you don't care about your health, it leads to all kinds of problems down the road. Choosing to stay up late one day to work on something won't destroy you, but if you do it over and over again it is really going to impact your overall performance.3. Sell yourself short on the things you do.If you are not on your own side, how do you expect yourself to achieve those big dreams you have?

  • 3 Insane Gems From Playing the Long Game vs. the Short Game in Life - #82

    19/02/2021 Duração: 18min

Today we talked about playing the patient long game or being a bit less patient and thoughtful and the differences between each in these three categories:VisionRewards NetworkHere's the interview I did on the Run Your Day Podcast if you're interested! I really enjoyed being on his show: Run Your Day with Dan Hafner - Ep. 309: Dallin Candland - The Game You'll Never Win...When you work on the long game you get that long term vision. Looking ahead is wise and helps you keep going strong. When you work on the short game you have short term vision. This is good but it is not sustainable if you want to build something that will last - like momentum or continued growth.I am planning on stopping my little personal Thursday episodes after episode 100 come April. It is insane to me that we would be hitting that crazy number come April! For now I anticipate that this would be wise, especially if I want to continue to improve the podcastI could see myself having another podcast or something down the line but

  • Encouragement At Rock Bottom - 3 Reasons It's SO Powerful - #81

    16/02/2021 Duração: 06min

I have been struggling recently. I won't lie. For me words of encouragement have always gone a long way. One quote that has been on my mind is that 5 minutes of encouragement at rock bottom is worth more than 10 times that when you are in the spotlight. In this episode I dissected that and shared three reasons why I think that is the case.1. Timely  - In your moment of struggle it is the main thing on your mind. In a week or two you will probably have something else to think about. Receiving encouragement shortly after the break down helps a lot in being able to channel those emotions towards something besides yourself. 2. Personal - The best encouragement I have received was specific and it helped me get a better idea of why I needed to keep going. When someone reaches out to you in your rough time and they know you well they can say words and do things that will truly help you to rise up again. 3. Lasting - In a few years you will probably be able to look back on this experience and remember exactly ho
